Hello my followers! I just wanted to remind you that I am reading the book Holes by Louis Sachar! I am currently on page 134 and I really like this book so far. So far, since my last blog, there was a fight! One kid, Zero, actually hit a camp counselor in the face with one of the shovels they dig with! After that, I'm pretty sure he just panicked and ran away without knowing he was running to nowhere. To an unforgiving desert that has no food or water like the camp. Stanley also tought him how to read and write in exchange for him helping Stanley dig his holes, since he is the slowest digger. Other than that its just another book with some action some boring stuff and some in betweens stuff. I'll blog about it again on my next blog! until then, bye!

This book is really good. So far Stanley Yelnats has been sent to Camp Greenlake because he chose to go there instead of go to jail for stealing shoes. The thing is, he didn't actually steal the shoes they just landed on him from out of nowhere. He has to dig holes in the middle of a lake as "punishment" because it "builds character". the holes have to be 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep. I am really enjoying this book and will blog about it during my next blog.

I started a new book called Holes by Louis Sachar. I just started this book so I only have read 33 pages. One quote I like is when Stanley blames his "No good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather." I think that quote is funny :)

Characters:
Shade: Shade is a newborn bat that is full of trouble. He looked at the Sun, which is against the rules for bats, and got their bat tree burnt down. Since they had nowhere to stay, they migrated down to the place they go in the winter. On the way he got blown away from his colony in the strong wind. He got blown over the ocean and luckily landed on a boat that went to an island off the shore of the mainland. That brings us to our next character...
Marina: Marina is a bat that lives on the island shade got blown onto. She lives there alone instead of with her colony. She lives there because she got banned from her colony because she got a bracelet put around her leg by humans. They thought she was cursed then and chased her out. She guided Shade back to the mainland and stuck with him ever since.
Goth: Goth is a bat that got captured by humans. He was originally from the jungle but got taken elsewhere to be studied. Along with being three times the size of a regular bat, he eats meat; whether it be owl, bird, or even another bat. Goth meets Shade and Marina in the forest and protects them from owls and other predators. Little did they know, he was only using them to get to their hibernating colony.
Throbb: was another jungle bat that got captured with Goth. They travel together, but Goth is obviously the bigger stronger bat in charge. Throbb is more of a little wussy bat, but still bigger and stronger than forest bats. He also is a cannibal bat like Goth. He doesn't make it all the way though because of a difficulty but you'll have to read the book to find out.
Plot: This book is about how a bat struggles to get back to his colony after being blown away from them in a storm. On his way, he meets some friends that help him. Little does he know, some of his friends aren't quite there to help him. He goes through a lot to get back to his colony, especially as a newborn just that year. The people he thought were friends turned on him and that's where the struggles really started. I won't give away the ending but it's worth reading.

For this blog I haven't read so nothing new has happened. I haven't read because I've been working a lot so I haven't really had time to. A review for this book can be found at http://www.allreaders.com/topics/Info_26683.asp

My book is Silverwing by Kenneth Oppel. I got this book at my house and I decided to read this book because I've read it before and I really enjoy it. The main character in this book is Shade. He is a newborn bat and is very curious of new things. The problem in this book is that he broke the bat law by looking at the sun and an owl caught him looking which is against the law. Because he broke the law the owls burned down the tree they lived in. They then had nowhere to live and had to migrate to their cave they go to in the winter. So far this book is really good and I would recommend it to anyone. I really like how the book is of bats instead of humans.
